English Paper Pieced Bunny Rabbit Pattern

Sharing is caring!

Free pattern for an EPP bunny with hexies!

You might be surprised to see an EPP geometric bunny rabbit applique pattern from me, since I already told you I just tried it for the first time recently, but this was so easy and fun! I completed the entire thing during a nap-time, which is so satisfying. Download the free pattern, grab a few scraps, and stitch up some Spring bunny rabbits!

I appliqued the bunny on to a handmade cloth napkin I already had – I think it would be cute on a tea towel, a pillow, or even the bottom of a skirt.

The pattern also includes a triangular carrot, I opted to leave it off since the napkin was pretty narrow but feel free to play around with it!

EPP Summary

I’m not about to present myself as an expert on English Paper Piecing – there are lots of different ways to do the templates, to baste, etc. I rounded up a few good starter ideas in this inspiration post.

I used plain computer paper, cut 1/4″ seam allowance roughly around the edges (step 1), and then used long basting stitches along the back (step 2). I left them in when I appliqued the bunny to the cloth napkin, because I’m lazy. You could use fusible tape or a glue stick to hold the shapes in place while you applique; I just used short pins.

Are you in a Spring mood yet? Make some geometric bunnies to use up your scraps!
