Modkid Breeann Hooded Top – Pattern Review

Sharing is caring!

A PDF Pattern Review of the Breeann hooded top from Modkid Patterns.

I’m sharing a review of the Breeann Hoodie pattern from Modkid Patterns today! This is a girl’s pattern – I fit in the largest size easily and normally wear a small in women’s patterns.

Anyways, I’m going to try and be a little more intentional when I sew something, at least for me! I really appreciate googling and finding info from other folks when I’m deciding to buy a pattern or not.

Pattern Review: Modkid Breeann Hooded Top*

This is a KIDS pattern. I have a 35″ bust and sewed the 16 in a lightweight knit without any issues or bodice adjustments. I think it would  be a perfect PDF sewing pattern for a tween or teen!

Fabric I used:

Lightweight knits from Girl Charlee* and the flat folds at Hancock Fabrics

Changes I made:

  • I lined the hood
  • I stabilized the shoulder seams with clear elastic
  • I added the armband
  • Added 1/2 inch to pattern as cut (I just didn’t cut the bottom line of the bodice, and used the bottom of the page as the cutting line, and I did the waistband differently so it was about 3″ wide when folded.

What I might do if I make it again:

Hmm nothing! Maybe play with different pocket options?

Overall thoughts:

I love it! It fits really well; I was a little nervous that it wouldn’t fit over my (giant) head but it did just fine. The pattern was a breeze to cut and tape and was very professionally done.

Spring colors! Now if only it was warmer than 8 degrees out.

So great! Really like your colors. I'm plenty short, but a bit too busty to pull of a kid's pattern ;) Though there have been a couple I've really been tempted by!

I no longer have anywhere near that issue after nursing my son for 15 months and counting, for better or worse :P

Modkid patterns are always well-done, and this is certainly something I could wear (I'm very petite). Thanks for sharing! I think the lined hood is a great idea too.
