I love sewing and I love saving money. When I realized that the app I was using to make a few extra bucks on my grocery shopping would also work at Jo-Ann’s, I had to share! All you need is a smartphone and the patience to not throw your receipt away until you get home – but I’ll show you in pictures how it all works. If you’re shopping online, there is a similar program called Ebates, check out this post to save cash back on internet purchases!

If you join Ibotta through my link*, you’ll get a $10 bonus after you redeem your first rebate in the first week, AND you can use coupons too!

You shop in store just like normal, and then get 4% cash back on your total purchase- make sure to hit that you want a printed receipt and take it home. On top of the entire purchase rebate, there are a few item specific offers that rotate, giving you certain amounts back on specific purchases (you can see these in the app).

Many rebates are time sensitive, but this is an “evergreen” rebate, so it will show up again in your offers 2-3 days after you’ve redeemed it.

Search for the Jo-Ann Fabrics rebate up at the top and it will pop up. You can also use Ibotta* at Costco, grocery stores, Walgreens, etc. as well – which is how I got started with it.

With the item specific rebates, they’ll have you scan the UPC off the box but for the whole purchase, you just scan the barcode on the receipt.easy-cash-back-on-fabric-and-craft-supplies-2

Then it pops up that you’re done! You get an email once the rebate is fully processed, and then once you hit $20 you can cash out via Paypal or gift cards. Easy, right? Sign up for Ibotta here*! I have a bunch more tips on saving money while sewing, over in this post, if you’re feeling extra thrifty.
