Sharing is caring!

Check out a big list of free softie patterns matched up with coordinating kid's books! Softies are such a fun gift to sew for kids, and make the perfect "half handmade" gift paired with a book. #freesoftiepattern

Free softie sewing patterns are so much fun – they’re a great way to check out a new pattern designer or blog and inexpensive gift to sew for babies and kids. Last winter, I paired a bunch of free tutorials with my son’s favorite books and it was so much fun, I decided to do it again with fresh softie patterns all released this past year! I like to call this idea “half handmade” – you can sew up a softie and the buy the book and gift them together!

I think free softie sewing patterns are a great way to try out sewing stuffed animals, they’re an affordable way to try out different designers. My kids certainly enjoy all my experiments!

My pet monkey of 21 years passed away... I wanted to make a keepsake stuffed monkey from his bedding? Do you have a monkey pattern?

Thanks for sharing..... I am not much of a stitching gal (currently sewing everything by hand), but appreciated you pocket kitty pattern & these. Trying to make some felt softies to donate to our local hospital for kids. Don’t know why I thought of this, but it’s a heart burden to make some critters. Maybe will try superheroes or princesses if I find an easy pattern. I just wanted to say thanks for free patterns ♥️
