Felt Mother’s day bookmark craft

Felt Mother's day bookmark craftBookmarks are one of my favorite fast crafts. They’re small, easy, and make great gifts. As my kids get older and into being read longer books, I am finding we are always hunting for more of them! I thought I’d share this felt mother’s day bookmark craft so I had a few new ones to keep and give to the Moms in my life this year! This post was sponsored by JOANN, which means they supplied materials and compensated me for my time, but all opinions are my own.

JOANN was where my Mom always took me to find fabric for her own projects, so that makes it extra special to take my kids there with me. They’re also the only fabric store option that has carts! So much more parent friendly than smaller stores that you have to herd them through on foot.

Easiest way how to make a fabric bookmark

Sewing· Tips & Tutorials

Wondering how to make a fabric bookmark? Bookmarks are a fun and easy way to use up precious small scraps – they make great gifts and stocking stuffers too!

I worked on these right as my baby woke up out of her sleepy newborn phase  a few years ago and it was so satisfying to actually finish something, fast. I have several shirts I’ve been working on for days… in 30 minute increments. If you’ve sewn for very long, you don’t need a tutorial for these. But if you’re a beginner or don’t want to mess with guessing at measurements, read on! I have a whole list of fabric scrap projects if you still have leftovers.

Looking for a gift to make with kids that will actually be used? This finger painted bookmark tutorial is a simple sewing project for beginners, but is fun to paint, too!

My Mom was always tinkering, crafting, and making something by hand when I was growing up. I love honoring that memory by making her handmade gifts, and it is even more fun when I can involve my kids!

It can be a challenge to come up with gift ideas kids can help with that will actually be used and enjoyed (macaroni noodle photo frame, anyone?) but I love the resist painting method. We made DIY finger painted bookmarks together, washing our hands in between colors with SoftSoap® Hand Wash Plus Lotion™, and they turned out great!
