You know that I love applique – perfect for using up scraps, a great way to hide holes or stains, and an easy way to personalize simple knit garments. As a fun way to promote my Little Artist Palette sewing pattern, I’m sharing a matching free palette applique pattern!
You can download the file here: Palette Applique; it is a simple shape that I can see on clothes, crayons roll-ups, pouches, and project bags. If you’re not familiar with using Wonder Under and applique, I have a photo tutorial in this post where I shared my free dump truck applique. You could also use it as a freezer paper stencil; I share that technique in this post!
First I used it on a Bimaa – this is one of my favorite patterns for my son!
He just got into painting recently, so this was perfect timing! You can see the other Bimaa I made for him in this post.
I also put it on a simple zipper pouch that I used to wrap up an embroidery kit & supplies as a gift. Perfect for crafty things!
Where might you put a palette applique? An art smock? I’d love to see it if you use it!
