I’m a twenty-something blogger living in Des Moines, Iowa, U.S.A. and I love to make stuff. I stay at home with my two young kids while my husband works with numbers all day. If I’m not crafting, sewing, or blogging I am probably reading (fantasy & non-fiction are my favorite genres) or doing something outdoorsy.
Once I was pregnant, I figured out quickly that the current retail offerings for kids aren’t my style; I think all kids of any gender should be able to wear whatever color they want. I can’t afford the more gender neutral boutiques and European designs so I started sewing! You can read more about what drives me to sew and craft in this post. Upcycled sewing projects are my very favorite but I also like dabbling and trying different projects and mediums (you can see everything I’ve been trying this year in my Try Something New Every Month project!).
I’ve never met a craft supply I didn’t like, I typically have 4 projects in various stages of completion, and I spend way too much time online. I have grown to love the online creative community – we’ve moved 4 times in the past 5 years and it’s so nice to have friendships that only need a wi-fi connection. Blogging keeps my creative energy flowing and makes me more accountable – without deadlines and collaborative projects I end up “pinning” more than I actually make. I hope as you click through you are inspired to look at something hanging in your closet or sitting on a shelf and transform it!
Thanks for stopping by – I’d love to hear from you!
