18+ ideas for sewing with upcycled neckties
If there’s one thing you can count on finding at virtually any thrift store you enter, it’s a silk tie. I have a hard time leaving them behind at the Goodwill bins (where you pay by the pound, so they are pennies!) but haven’t done much with the ones I’ve collected. I rounded up a bunch of inspiration ideas to get me started and I’m sharing them with you too!

My Mom made my prom dress from ties, with the small points at the top and the large points at the bottom! I also had a maxi skirt made from them. Later, she made me a quilt from neckties from the men in my family, and backed it in velvet. Love these new ideas!
