I’ve been busy behind the scenes – I’m trying out the contributor gig over at So Sew Easy! If you read sewing blogs or use Pinterest, you’ve surely seen Deby’s face because her patterns are super popular. She lives in Grand Cayman, but try not to hold that against her, ha. While I’ve been researching wool mittens and flannel sheets in the Midwest, she’s been enjoying the beach and seeing real sharks!
My first post at So Sew Easy is a tutorial & free pattern for a Hammerhead Shark Pillow Pet. The dimensions could be used for any animal you wanted to sketch out a head & tail for; what better way to surprise a little one than with their very favorite animal!
It’s a perfect size for snuggling, but in our house it’s used more often for chasing and giggling. The minky makes it so darn soft; this would be a great way to use up minky quilt scraps too!
What do you think of Mr. Hammerhead? I made the tail a little long so it could be flipped to the side for napping and not stick up behind their neck. My son doesn’t need any excuse to skip sleep.

This turned out so adorable! I'm pretty sure my boys would be too busy chasing each other with it to actually sleep ;)
