Needle felted fish! I sewed up a sweet seal softie for Betz White’s blog (from her Slippy & Slide pattern) and decided to make him some snacks to eat. You can check out my baby seal pattern at Betz’s blog today, but I wanted to share the ingenious trick my Mom told me to make a custom shape for needle felting.
Does this look familiar? It’s the strip that you use to cut off aluminum foil! It’s super thin and easy to manipulate, but holds its shape well. I just bent it around and taped up the ends to make a little fish and then needle felted inside of it. You can see my first attempt at needle felting in this post, where I made a star and a caterpillar.
Here fishy fishy fishy! These were so fun to make and toss around.

these are adorable! I had already done the features when you added this, and I would love to feature it, so I’ve put it as the first entry on this week’s party. Though of course would love to see more great projects! thanks so much for sharing on craft schooling Sunday!
