I’m surprised that it has taken this long, but it’s time for matching big brother/little sister clothes! My son gets so excited when his little sister wears something that matches him or has a truck on it, so I told him I’d work on some more matching sets. I used my favorite fast and easy shirt, the Recess Raglan from See Kate Sew. I made some mock-ups before I cut into my nice fabric, so it was double the halloween fun!
My testers to adjust for sizes in both kids – I used upcycled shirts and upcycled ribbing. That cheesy, awesome print was a gigantic turtleneck sweater, I should’ve taken a picture in it! For the size 12, I added a tiny bit to the sleeves and hem length. For the size 5 I added a bit to the sleeves and took several inches off the hem.
Then it was time for the good stuff! The ghost fabric is a JNY organic cotton knit, bought from Frollein-S and available in a blue & orange colorway as well. It just happened to go with the organic cotton interlock I got dirt cheap off Fabric.com a long time ago (also used in this shirt & this cardigan).
For some reason the lighting was refusing to stay consistent – it matches pretty decently, best shown in the last photo. I used my coverstitch everywhere and am loving how it turned out on the hems, but stumbled around the collar. I can’t seem to keep an even line over the seams! But I’ll take a durable, comfy stitch over perfect look any day.
How cute are they! Matching jeggings and all. There will definitely be more matching clothes in the future!

LOVE these shirts for Halloween! Recess Raglan seems like a simple pattern & easy to sew for your 2 kids! Your choice of Halloween prints are cool for little kids' shirts paired with black leggings. thanks for sharing. Sarah in Minneapolis
