Many of the woodburned project books I could find had ideas that weren’t my style; lots of old-fashioned and intricate wall hangings. I spent time browsing online and am now sharing a list of craft wood burner projects that are modern and fun! Wood burning is an inexpensive craft to try and you can make some really neat handmade gifts with a woodburning pen!
If you need a woodburning pen for beginners, this is the one I used!
Here are some general technique tips from Alisa Burke to try wood burning, she has some beautiful projects included on this list too!

I made a memory game with my woodburning tool! Check out how I transferred the pattern (it was easy!) in the post for the diy woodburned kid’s toy.

If you like checking out books instead of blogs, I’m really drawn to this one, “Learn to Burn: A Step-by-Step Guide to Getting Started In Pyrography“* by Simon Easton because it looks modern and approachable, and I want to peek inside this: “Woodburning Project & Pattern Treasury: Create Your Own Pyrography Art with 75 Mix-and-Match Designs“* by Debbie Pompano, because WOW how intricate is that wood-burned art on the front!
This was one of my favorite Pinterest boards for wood-burning inspiration!
