Patriotic Raglan Romper

Patriotic Raglan Romper - Swoodson Says

It’s Romper Week! Raeanna of Sewing Mama Raeanna organized this fun week of all rompers, all the time, and invited me to sew along. I had my Mom look around and see if she could find any pictures of me in a romper but the only ones she came up with were not my style! So I thought I’d sew ahead for the 4th of July and mashed together two patterns to make a raglan romper.

I won’t tease you – check out this vintage romper goodness! My Mom made it for me herself.

Rompers seem to end at size 24 months but I don’t know why; this looks so comfy and provided lots of comfy room for toddler shenanigans.

My first attempt at tinkering with the Peek-a-boo Lazy Days Romper* pattern was with a camera applique for Project Run & Play, but I decided the neckline was a little wide. So, I added in my very favorite top pattern, the See Kate Sew recess raglan.

The red is an upcycled t-shirt and the front is Euro knit purchased from a Facebook sale group. I love the quality, it is so soft and stretchy. I added a fussy-cut star to cover up a tag that I couldn’t cut around; I like that it adds a bit of fun to the back.

The Euro knit presses so well; top stitching is usually my least favorite step but it was smooth and easy on this outfit.

What toddler photoshoot would be complete without a stick?

I had a lot of fun sewing for romper week!

This romper is adorable! I loved this style when my son was little. So easy to put on him, change diapers, and to clean! Plus, the knit fabric is so comfy and great for playtime. Your fabrics are awesome, too!

I love rompers too, I don't know why they're not more popular for little boys :) Thanks so much for stopping by!

What a great week of sewing! My daughter is 8 - 8! And she loves rompers. Slightly more "grown up" rompers, but rompers nonetheless. She calls them Stick-Together Clothes and wants me to make another for her - found one in Ottobre to try that goes up to larger sizes. :)

Haha that is an AWESOME nickname for a romper. I don't think I've seen any boys in rompers over the age of 2, which is ridiculous because they're so comfy! Yay Ottobre!

It was a destash group -- I wish I could get more of this! Euro quality has ruined me, that's for sure.
