Free printable valentine zine PDF & tutorial!

If you’re looking for a wholesome family Valentine activity that everyone can work on, look no further! I designed these cute little one page zine as an activity with a group of middle-schoolers for Valentine’s Day and thought I’d share them! They require very little in the way of supplies, are simple to make, and fun to personalize. I pitched them as an easy way to make a valentine for their parents but the sky’s the limit!

I made my example for my friend and my daughter worked on one for her Grandma!

Kids who don’t love drawing could write or collage in the blank spaces, too!

Supplies
- the printable PDF is free for newsletter subscribers! –sign up for my newsletter and get the free download once you confirm your subscription! If you’re already a subscriber, you can access the pattern with the password in each newsletter, in the resource library.
- bone folder (optional but helps with precise folding, you just run it along the crease!)
- scissors
- marking utensils
Easy ways to jazz up your activity:
- a selection of tiny stickers like these
- washi tape
- stamps
- heart-shaped paper punches
Steps:

Step 1- Fold the page in half, hot-dog style/vertically.
Step 2- Fold the page in half, hamburger style/horizontally.

Step 3- Fold the page in half again, hamburger style/horizontally.
Step 4- Completely open up the page!

Step 5- Fold the page back in half, hamburger style/horizontally.
Step 6- Carefully cut through the middle until the next horizontal fold, as close to the fold line as you can get.

Step 7- Fold the page back in half, hot-dog style/vertically, with the blank sides facing together. The middle will naturally gape open!
Step 8- Gently fold the booklet back together, making sure the front and back cover are on the front and back!
Step 9- You did it! You made a one-page valentine zine!
