I’ve sewn tons of softies and handmade toys over the past few years, and the one that has been most popular has been the Little Photographer Camera! One of my earliest patterns, it is a stuffed camera toy that encourages imaginative play. There’s a little window in the back to slip real pictures; my kids love shuffling through them or suggesting new ones. Seeing other peoples’ versions pop up in different color combinations over the years has been so much fun and after receiving feedback from a few folks I decided to update the pattern.
Now it has an applique layout with specific placement measurements! That is the only change that was made, and anyone who purchased the pattern in the past has the updated version in their account. If you have any trouble just shoot me an email and I can send the updated file right over. If you want to sew one up and don’t already have the pattern, find it here in my shop – I’d love to see any that you sew up.
They are great for indoors and outdoors, just toss them in the wash once you’re done.
We have cut out magazine pictures and also real photographs to slip into the “viewfinder”, it’s fun to leave them a surprise new one.
If you want to take a peek at some other cameras that have been sewn up, there are pictures on the product page and also pinned to my board here. It’s so much fun watching what kids pretend to take pictures of!
