Christmas Baby Blocks Sewing Pattern

A new Swoodson Says pattern has released! This is the perfect pattern to sew by the dozens. The design lends itself well to using up fabric scraps and the appliques are unique while remaining easy to sew on. Babies and toddlers will love throwing, stacking, and squishing these soft blocks; they’d fit perfectly in a stocking!

The applique designs include a Christmas tree, an ornament, a candy cane, a reindeer, a snowflake, a star, and a snowman.

I experimented with adding things inside; squeakers and jingle bells make them extra fun!

The pattern calls for fusible fleece, this leaves the blocks with strong shapes that still squish. I know one tester experimented and used a stiffer interfacing and fusible fleece behind that, but I like my blocks super huggable.

It was a tall order asking testers to sew Christmas blocks way back in February, but I had a few folks help me out!

Caitlin sewed some cute and traditional blocks.

Crystal experimented with minky and fleece for extra sensory fun, see her full blog post here.

Amanda G wen non-traditional with pink and black, how fun are they!

You can find the pattern in my shop here; if you’re not quite ready to sew for Christmas, you can pin this pattern for later, I’ll definitely be sewing up some more this year.
