A virtual tour of ReMix It – Asheville’s new creative reuse center!
Want to see what it’s like inside Asheville’s new creative reuse center, ReMix It? I’ve got photos so you can get a sense of ReMix it without ever leaving your couch! If you get anxious about visiting new stores, I have photos of where to park, where to go, and what to expect. If you’re into secondhand craft supplies, of course don’t miss my 2026 mega list of creative reuse centers. This post was written within 2 weeks of opening – things naturally ebb and flow with secondhand stores but I know there are more things planned for the future and will do my best to add photos of big changes when I see them (I’m confident I’ll be a frequent visitor). Also, please keep in mind that prices may vary and change in the future, but the signs will give you a ballpark idea at least!
Here is the main shop! Accessible parking in front of the shop and a shared lot to the right. Don’t panic if both are full, keep reading for more ideas. The address is 202 Haywood Road in West Asheville and the current shopping hours at the time of writing are Wed – Sat, 11am – 6pm, but please double check their website before driving over.

- Tell friends & family so they can enjoy local creative reuse too!
Consider:
- Donating your craft & art supplies (and telling friends/family that you’ll take their when you take yours!)! It is currently by appointment only.
- Donate money!
- Writing a google review after you visit.
Okay, folks who are stressed over parking, here is an aerial view! ReMix It is the red blob and there is street parking both north (pink) and south (green) of the store.

To the north-ish of the store (pink), drive past Taco Billy (which is really yummy, highly recommend for food before or after shopping). To the south-ish of the store (green), drive past the store.
Alright, after you parked, walk to the front if you’re here to shop (keep scrolling to see where you go in for donations). Isn’t that sign funny! Amanda, the founder, did such a great job with all the branding and getting this space off and running quickly, I’m super impressed.
Walking into the store, you’ll see the cash register, a clear sign that it is an inclusive space safe for all, some shopping carts and baskets (carts from JOANN no less!) and a small free corner, including magazines that are great for collage!
A quick peek at the donation entrance, which is on the side by the shared parking lot. Donations are currently by appointment only. When you go in that door, you’ll see this little donation desk!

Immediately across from the register is a bookcase with some higher value/ticket items for sale and a bunch of neat art! Around the corner are all the books.

The bathroom is both accessible and inclusive – and you can see a baby changing table for parents!
An overview of the main shop space! It’s very air-y and spacious.
A few details that didn’t fit neatly into other photo collages – a bunch of resign molds, the “unfinished project” sale bucket, the organizer for vintage photos & ephemera, and a big selection of paintbrushes and corks for upcycling.
Paint for sale, canvases for sale both blank and ready to be painted over.
Both sides of the papercraft section including paper punches, stamps, stickers, and all sorts of postcards and cards.
Lots of arts & crafts options including foam, felt, pom poms, paper, & sketchbooks.
The wood corner including matting, frames, and wood crafty pieces.
Alll sorts of writing utensils – all tested and ready to write!
Lots and lots of scrapbook paper galore, including fill a bag options for plain paper.
These areas are a little eclectic including kid craft kits, party favors, clay stuff, and floral materials.
Even if you don’t like making stuff, there is a bunch of useful office & school supplies!
A bunch of rolled paper and arts/crafts storage.
The jewelry bead area had already grown in my second visit back – there are several ‘fill a bag’ options for beads as well as general findings.
The fabric section is mixed, with some charged by weight and some individually priced, but lots of selection!
The yarn is similar – some priced individually and some by pound.
Lastly, the corner with all sorts of sewing patterns, buttons, zippers, clips, notions, patches, etc.
Needlework kits, twine, knitting needles, embroidery hoops all in high supply!
Last, but not least, some of my favorite finds between volunteering to sort donations and shopping thrice 🙂 I didn’t buy most of these but I had fun looking at them! From top left clockwise – amazing charms/miniatures, a cool quilt pattern, beautiful golden moon beads, and cool framed pins.
A really unique frame, assortment of cool keys, sashiko drawstring bag kit, vintage glitter.
Retro tiny shelves, a crazy intricate quilt top, paper punch, and a miniature room craft kit!
Some cool retro fabric, a massive collection of clothing labels, vintage beads, and vintage postcards!
