I’ve been doing some digital organizing and realized I never blogged about this super cute stuffed owl pattern! It’s from Abby Glassenberg Design, I tested it out for her and had fun sewing it. She used a really nifty paper format so it can be sold in quilt shops, it looks super polished and is easy to follow.I don’t know what it is about owls, but they never get old. We love seeing them in the wild when we go hiking and we love them as stuffies that can come inside!
{I received a copy of this pattern when I tested it, for free, but all opinions are my own.}

Abby has bundled together the cutest little kit, wouldn’t it make a great gift? You can buy it on Etsy here.
Back of the owl, you can see the shaping details on the head and the wings here. You might recognize the fabrics, they were scraps from the patchwork hexagon turtle floor pillow that I sewed last year! The pattern calls for safety eyes, but I didn’t have any on hand and was too impatient to order any. I used french knots, that look a little rough after the kids loved on it for a while. I definitely prefer the look of the safety eyes and would use them over embroidery in the future.
Chubby toddler hands! My kids love toys and softie that have moving parts (this dump truck softie has always been a hit, with moving wheels!) so I wasn’t surprised that he was drawn to its big eyes.
Isn’t it the cutest stuffed owl pattern! I can see these as the cutest bookends if they were filled with beans. I don’t think I have anything negative to share about the pattern, it was easy to follow, pieces fit together well, and I love how it turned out!Find the pattern here!

My last Softies were a pair of dachshunds made from a 1950s (Simplicity??) pattern- I can’t check because I’m away visiting friends. ‘Fritzi and Mitzi’ are a huge hit with my daughter, but Abby’s Owl looks very cute and her modern aesthetic is refreshing.
