Everyone loves getting a shiny new box of floss; how about this fancy DMC Etoile Floss set? It sparkles!
You could also consider:
- some wool embroidery thread; this is hard to find in stores and has such a unique feel to it.
- silk embroidery floss in a beautiful substrate sampler, I’ve never stitched with this but I’m dying to!
You can never have too many scissors, and super cute, kitschy ones are even better! I’d love to receive an adorable llama scissors pair from Crafty Wool Felt.
You could also consider:
- unicorn scissors – the absolute best, these would make anyone smile.
- mermaid scissors- quirky without being cheesy, perfect for the mermaids at heart.

Snarky labels are perfect for people who make things – highly relatable, unique, and funny! Check out these hilarious options from Ktown Creative, I would totally sew these on to the back of a hoop.
Even if you have a ton of supplies at home, it’s always so nice to get a kit with everything coordinated and taken care of! - Thread magic – this is a thread conditioner that makes floss easy to sew and harder to tangle
- A thimble – protect your fingers when you’re stitching constantly!
- A magnifying lamp to clip on while stitching, makes it easier to see
